Job Title: Data Reporting Analyst / Data Analyst

Job Location: Austin, Texas- Onsite

Job Summary

• Responsible for transforming raw data into meaningful insights to support data-driven decision-making.
• Work includes acquiring data from various sources, creating recurring and ad-hoc reports, resolving data/code issues, and maintaining clean, accurate, and structured databases.
• Perform senior-level analytical work using data analysis and business analysis best practices.
• Assess, analyze, research, and document data requirements while ensuring alignment with organizational data standards and quality practices.
• Support operational optimization, program improvement, and initiative tracking across multiple business and technical units.
• Lead or support special projects, develop data analysis tools, define reporting requirements, and recommend improvements.
• Operate with limited supervision and significant independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Acquire, clean, validate, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for leadership and business units.
• Create, manage, and deliver recurring and ad-hoc data reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Conduct deep analysis to identify trends, correlations, and operational performance gaps.
• Develop and maintain metadata, data tables, and user-friendly reporting interfaces.
• Build and enhance As-Is / To-Be data models to support operational improvements.
• Map data workflows and identify opportunities for optimization and standardization.
• Develop performance measurement frameworks, benchmarks, and operational trend analyses.
• Analyze data-related policies, procedures, and standards to determine system impacts.
• Document data requirements, business rules, and process/data flows.
• Support strategic initiatives by creating gap analyses, recommendations, and roadmaps.
• Ensure data integrity, data consistency, and adherence to organizational data standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support analytics needs, business operations, and project delivery.
• Participate in or lead special projects assigned by leadership.

Candidate Skills & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• 8+ years of experience researching, gathering, correlating, and analyzing complex data.
• 8+ years of ability to transform data into business insights and prepare executive-level reports.
• 8+ years developing As-Is / To-Be data models and identifying operational inefficiencies.
• 8+ years mapping datasets and identifying improvements in data processes and structures.
• 8+ years analyzing data policies, standards, and procedures to determine impacts on systems.
• 8+ years acquiring data, creating routine reports, and conducting deep trend/correlation analyses.
• 8+ years developing metadata, data tables, and user interfaces for business reporting.
• 8+ years using creative and advanced reporting tools to build dashboards and data visualizations.

Preferred Experience

• 5+ years creating dashboards, advanced reports, and visual analytics.
• 5+ years developing SDLC-related artifacts including gap analyses, requirements, data flow diagrams, test cases, use cases, and design documents.
• 1+ year experience working within a public-sector (state or federal) environment.
